Although developed for merchant vessels this tool will be of vital importance to everyone dealing with the risk of tropical storms, including yachts, etc. Clear and easy to use overview charts show the forecast track of the storm and its stormfield, the track of the storm relative to your intended route, the available options for avoidance routes, and the tactics open in heavy weather situations. The software is able to calculate the risk of synchronous or parametric rolling, broaching, or flooding and will show dangerous course and speed settings on its various charts. The database of this application is compatible with other recent NavTools applications and with NavTools Route 7 voyageplanning which will be released soon.

NavTools Meteo

Small and very easy to use application for retrieving worldwide weather charts, satellite images, radar, and hurricane information from Internet. NavTools Meteo uses ftp to download the raw data directly from major weather servers, resulting in a much faster and more efficient download than via your browser. If no direct tcp/ip online connection is available, files can be ordered by email instead.

NavTools Route

Complete voyage planning utility for ocean and coastal shipping and yachts, unlimited number of waypoints, greatcircle or rhumbline. Caculates average weather enroute as well as estimated vessels performance and optimal speed settings. Includes hurricane tracking, calculation of CPA and TCPA of tropical storm compared to any route. Automatically generates AMVER, SISREP, AUSREP, and other reporting messages. Plottingsheets and graphs can be printed. Internal database with port-information and relevant navigational warnings, as well as reporting points and past positionfixes. Calculation of estimated fuel consumption allows you to select the most optimal route for each season, taking into account average weather and current enroute as well as vessels draft and estimated performance.

NavTools GPS

NavTools GPS is a small and easy to use application to connect your PC or laptop to an existing GPS (NMEA 0183 serial connection) installation. Position cata will automatically be displayed and logged on your screen, and voyage data can be exchanged and shared with the NavTools Route voyage planning application, where after required course, speed, and most economical engine settings will automatically be calculated and displayed. Position reports and noon reports can be created from NavTools GPS and many usefull navigational utilities are included in this release.

NavTools PIM

Allows you to store and retrieve data on voyages, flights, travel-expanses, workhours, packing lists, personal effects list, and expiry dates of certificates, visa, and other travel documents. Will allow you quick overview of days travelled, and expenses made. For each voyage you can enter a crewlists and list of ports of call, as well as flight-data, travel expenses, and workhours. Includes search facilities to quickly search these lists. Includes addresslist for each place visited as well as option to store notes for each voyage, and each place visited, etc. Medical data can be stored also. Using NavTools PIM you will have all important travel-information in one, easy to use, application.
