RVal

RVal is a program for Electronic Engineers and hobbyists. It will find the nearest preferred resistor values satisfying certain criteria or all within a given tolerance, in whichever range of preferred values the user selects. All the standard value ranges are supported; they are E6, E12, E24, E48, E96 and E192. Preferred values can be selected according to the following criteria: * The nearest preferred value to that specified. * The pair of preferred values having the closest approximation to the required Ratio. * The pair of preferred values having the closest approximation to the required Difference. * Pairs of preferred values which, when placed in series or parallel provide the closest approximation to the required value. * The preferred value required in parallel with an existing value to provide the closest approximation to the required value. The program's output can be printed, saved or appended to a text file or copied (in part or in full) to the clipboard. RVal also includes the facility to output a list of the values in the selected range. Clipboard or file contents are suitable for import into a spreadsheet or similar program. RVal is a shareware categorized under electronics, engineering, science tools.

RColours converts th...

RColours

RColours converts the colour bands commonly found on resistors into the value of that resistor or it converts a given value into the colour bands that would be used to represent that value. 3 and 4 band representations are supported and the user can switch between the two to compare the result (the value is held constant and the colour bands altered to suit). The value is displayed or can be entered in the industry standard 1K2 style. The colours are displayed on a picture of a resistor as well as being named in the drop-down dialogue boxes that can also be used to select the colours when converting to the value. Informative dialogues can be opened to provide explanations of the tolerance band colours and the temperature coefficient colour-band if it exists. A help file is also included. electronics, engineering freeware listed in electronics, engineering section.

Five utilities for a...

MailUtils

Five utilities for administrators of MSmail postoffices* are provided in one program: "User List > Text File" generates a list of all local users giving details of their mailbag number, MMF file size and the number of e-mails waiting for them. "Mailbag > Text File" identifies the owner of any mailbag and creates a list of all e-mails referenced within it, plus useful details of each (but no private info!). "Network > Text File" generates a complete list of all the external postoffices (including gateways) known to the local postoffice, giving various details about each. "Stranded Mail Report" searches for e-mails that are present on the postoffice but are not referenced in any mailbag (a common problem that soaks up disc space). "SMTP Addresses > Text File" produces a text file containing a list of all SMTP addresses registered with the postoffice (useful for remote users). *Note that this includes the type of postoffice created by the "Microsoft Mail Postoffice" control panel application present in many 32-bit versions of Windows. This internet software is listed under email utilities, email postoffice.
