Adastra Plus
A complete astronomy experience is in store -- with real-time sky, comprehensive reports, arcsecond accuracy, and exciting features such as animation and live orbital tracking. Adastra''s powerful search encompasses planets, comets, asteroids, DSOs, and a multitude of stars, making exploration of the sky in real time easy. The natural Drag Mode introduces a new navigational ease to the sky display, for smooth, head-turning views of the heavens. Adastra''s point-and-click Sky Quiz will quickly build familiarity with your local celestial geography, leaving "Solar Guide" and "Astrogloss" to supply trusted encyclopedic information in HTML form. Solar Guide takes you on a tour of our Solar System interactively linking to both Sky and Picture windows. Astrogloss A-Z is a dictionary of over 1000 astronomical terms, integrated tightly with Adastra''s Search and display. So when you click on an object in the sky, Adastra will bring up that object''s definition in the Dictionary. A precision tool for the archaeo-astronomer, Coeli''s TimeLine (alias "Stella BC") can graphically demonstrate the dramatic effects of precession down through the millennia, seeking out that remote First Time, when Vega and Deneb were Pole Stars... Adastra offers five celestial projections in which to observe the night sky on your PC, in either resizeable windows or full screen mode. Advance, retard, or animate the simulation''s clock by years, months, days, and minutes of sidereal or solar time; track any selected object through the sky in both real-time or fast-forward. A NEO asteroid ''chase'' is recommended as an introduction to this absorbing activity. And don''t forget to open the Live Orbits window...

Coeli - Stella 2000
Complete astronomy suite comprising a full-featured planetarium, observing log and list builder, Coeli Time Line, Live Orbits (orrery), location browser, Sky Quiz, and sophisticated searches embracing planets, comets, asteroids, DSOs, and up to 300,000 stars.
Planetarium effects include scintillation, extinction, refraction, and precession in point source, photo plate and spotlight display styles; along with the complete Messier catalog in image icons.
An integral HTML guide to the solar system, a 1000-term astronomical dictionary, and the 2nd revised and enlarged edition of Aspects of Astronomy -- a book-length primer covering topics such as "What are the Stars?", "Choosing a Telescope", "Cosmology", "Dark Matter", "Eclipses", and "The History of Astronomy", to name but a few -- are closely coordinated with the sky display and picture windows.
Stella 2000 talks and teaches aloud. With complete incorporation of Microsoft Agent speech technology, animated characters guide you painlessly through the pronunciation of a myriad of arcane star names and lore, and even read aloud from Astrogloss and Aspects of Astronomy, not to mention offering that most immediate form of program help: spoken guidance.
Stella's Drag Mode brings complete plasticity into all your interactions with the planetarium display. Dragging the mouse auto-scrolls sky quadrants smoothly and quickly into view from three selectable planes of reference: Horizon (local), Equatorial (atlas), and Ecliptic / Heliocentric. Stella provides direct links to extensive DSO and planetary information on the Web, all tightly unified with the Sky display, Reports, and the Coeli Solar Guide.
Auto-Search instantly updates readouts and reports on any object your mouse pointer scrolls over. You may even slew your Meade ETX/LX200 telescope to the object selected in Stella's sky.
