This is a neat way to mimic content from another site. Your web server can pose as a web browser, visit a web site of your choice, extrapolate content, modify it, and then feed it back to a user on your site. Using a search and replace routine, you can tell the script exactly what to look for and what to put in it's place. A snippet of JavaScript can be instantly removed, or the name of the site can be automatically modified. Don't like the style of the site? It's easy to instruct this script to grab only a portion of the remote site, to change images, and then display it with a header and footer of your choice. Warning: this could be illegal if your intent is to steal content and pose it as your own. You should ask permission of the original site owner before proceeding.

This script automatically converts pages on your site to ''text only'' on the fly for those who want faster access and don''t have a quick modem. It maintains most links within the site, removing images and table tags and doesn''t harm links outside of the site. Simply put a link to the script on each page, and the script does the rest. It reads the data on the page, removing non-text information. A good way to use the script is to include a link to it in a "server side include" that goes on every page automatically. I always do this on my sites for headers, footers, middle page ads, and links. That way I can change all the information on the whole site very quickly and easily. Arranged Blind Dates

These two scripts make it possible to traverse all files in a subtree, even an entire site, record the dates of the original files, then apply those dates to the new server. You should run the first script, BlindDate, on the old server. It traverses all the directories on the server and saves the file date for each file to a flat file text database. Then you should upload all files to your new servers. All html files, Perl scripts, text files, images, etc. When all files are uploaded to the new server, and the flat file text database of file dates is uploaded, then you should execute ArrangedDate from your browser on the new server. The script will again traverse all directories on the new server, but this time redate all of the files on your server with the dates from the old server. A future version will hopefully automatically FTP all files from the original server eliminating the need for the first step.
