GRAPE GBW32 v4.0
GBW32 v4.0 is the update to GBW32 v3.1. GBW32 v4.0 is a 32 bit Windows 95/98/NT 3D Finite Element program that uses standard third order beam and truss elements to model a wide range of Civil and Mechanical structures. The graphical user interface is powerful and easy to use to quickly model a structure, apply loads and constraints, and analyze the model. GBW32 v4.0 supports release nodes for all loadings, batch analysis, auto analysis and has an undo/redo feature. Displacements, loads, stress information and animation are available to determine the effect of the applied loading and constraints. Results can be viewed with a few mouse clicks. Models can be imported/exported as a DXF file. Model, material and geometry files are ASCII text and can be created/edited within the program or from another source. Loads available include global loads and moments at nodes, global uniform loads, acceleration and angular velocity. Local element loads include trapezoidal loads, axial, torsion, moment and thermal loads. Constraints or springs to ground can be applied in all 6 degrees of freedom. Models can be created within the graphical environment or imported as a DXF file. An on-line help file describes all aspects of the program with numerous examples and a How Do I... section. GBW32 v4.0 is up to 100x faster than the previous GBW32 v3.1 due to 32 bit dynamic arrays. Nodes can be renumbered. GBW32 v4.0 is available for download and may be copied and distributed to interested users. Users are requested to register if they are using the program. The registration price is $189.95 US. Site licenses are available. Educational discount is 50%. A PC compatible Pentium class computer running Windows 95/98/NT with a minimum of 32 MB memory and 8 MB of disk space is required. To install run the GBW32V40.exe program to unzip and install.
