InformitisVirtual Serial Driver is appointed for emulation of one, two or more (up to 200) serial streams. Hardware devices are not necessary. This product is based on Windows XP DDK and doesn't require using devices of other manufacturers. The whole product is created with the help of Microsoft tooling. Informitis Virtual Serial Driver realizes full emulation of Serial Port functions, connected with each other with the help of NULL-MODEM or full cable, including DTR, CTS, DSR, RTS. Informitis Virtual Serial Driver can be interesting for software (for Windows Platforms) developers, who use external devices connected with computer by serial port. Also, it will be interesting for developers of the products appointed for connection of two or more computers through serial ports.

Informitis Net Serial Driver (INSD)

While the operation of different facilities, which are connected to a computer via serial port, there may appear the necessity to start up utility program (for these facilities) not in the machine, to which the facilities connect directly, but in the remote machine, that is connected to the facility server via the network (TCP/IP). The developers of the given facilities very often face with such a necessity. For instance, during the debugging in a remote machine or when different people with the help of different machines (which are nevertheless connected to one machine) maintain the same facilities. INSD is designed especially for the solving of these problems. The use of our product gives you the possibility to give the remote access to serial port via TCP/IP. The product consists of three parts: 1. IVSD is a program emulator of serial ports (up to 255) for operational system W2K/XP. 2. INSD client is the service, which realizes the exchange between IVSD and TCP/IP. 3. INSD server is a service which realizes the exchange between a real driver of the serial port and TCP/IP. INSD client and server handle two flows: outcoming and incoming. The client takes the bytes that were transferred to all the virtual ports earlier and then transfers them to the server, which was started up on the other computer. Also the client receives flows from the server and gives the bytes (as those which came from the outside) to IVSD. IP address of the receiving server, port number and the number of the real serial port on the receiver are specified on the client for each port. The server receives the information from clients and then transfers it to the ports specified by them. As for the flows, which came from these ports, the server transfers them to the client as well. Besides the data flow, TCP/IP transfers the overhead information about the condition of different signals on serial port physical contacts.

Here is brief list of stages: receiving; estimating (defects and repair pricing); customer approval; dry-out (if needed); repairing (in-house or subcontracted); quality check; shipping back to customer. Each Equipment is accounted by it's Model, Model Group, Manufacturer and Serial Number, and can have one or more Accessories (also available for repair). Repair pricing are automatically calculated by Rates assigned to each Model, Accessory depending on Defect found. As already mentioned, Service Manageme has great "Reports" section, covering all kinds of requests (financial, work related, summaries etc.). We can customize reports for our clients. Service Managem also have strong security features, allowing assignment of proper Users to Groups accessing only to certain features of application. Also Wor if fully language-customizable, so one can translate it quickly to his native language. It was written using Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0, Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 (works under SQL 2000), COM+. SM is fully customizable for customer needs, so it can be even adjusted by customer himself. More complex changes we can provide after determining specification. SM is currently successfully used by many Service Centers.
