Computer Rental Contro...

Computer Rental Controller

Computer Rental Controller allows you to easily rent or sell computer time on your computer. It offers two methods for renting time. The first method generates a list of passwords. Each password allows access to the computer for a period of time selected by you, and can be used only once. This allows you to sell the passwords, thus selling use of the computer for specific periods of time. There are also administrator and supervisor passwords that allow unlimited access to the computer, as well as access to the Computer Rental Controller control panel. Using the second method, Computer Rental Controller allows you to create and store a list of permanent passwords. Each password can be used an unlimited number of times. When a person gains access to the computer using one of these passwords, Computer Rental Controller keeps track of how long the person is on the computer. It can then give a report of how long each person used the computer. This report lists each time they signed onto the computer and how long they were on for that session. You can then bill each person for their use of the computer at your convenience. Computer Rental Controller is useful in situations where you want to set up a computer that people can use for specific periods of time, such as an Internet Café or computer kiosk. It can also be used in cases where a parent might want to control how long a child uses the computer. Computer Rental Controller keeps running records of when the computer was accessed. This can be useful for business records.

Open Sesame Spam Block...

Open Sesame Spam Blocker

Open Sesame Spam Blocker is a Windows software program that deletes any email in your Outlook or Outlook Express Inbox folder unless it meets at least one the following criteria: 1) The email comes from someone in a "white list" of senders created by you 2) The email comes from someone whose email address is in your address book 3) The subject line contains one of the passwords selected by you If the email does not pass any of these criteria, it is deleted (moved to the deleted folder). When the email is deleted, Open Sesame Spam Blocker can send an email (if you wish) telling the sender that the email has been deleted. If you wish, this email will give them the password that they need to include in the subject line in order to have Open Sesame Spam Blocker not delete the email. While it may seem strange to automatically send everyone who sends you a password that enables them to bypass Open Sesame Spam Blocker, there is actually a very logical reason for this. Almost all spam is sent out in bulk by computer programs. These programs ignore any replies. In fact, the return address is usually totally phony, so they never even see the reply. Therefore, these spam mailers do not read the return message and resend the email with the password. However, if the email was sent by a real live person (perhaps your long lost love who had tracked you down or an important business contact you forgot to put in the list of acceptable email addresses), that person will almost certainly resend the email with the password in the subject line. (Note: Open Sesame Spam Blocker does not work with America Online email or email that you read by going to a Web site, like Yahoo.com.) Open Sesame Spam Blocker is especially useful for businesses that have a Web site with a "click here to send email" type link. You can have the link automatically add the password to the subject line by including code in the link that automatically creates the subject line.

Computer Payment Enforcer

Do you sell or lease computers and have problems with customers not paying on time? Computer Payment Enforcer is a computer program that helps you to collect payments for computers that you have sold on credit or are renting out. You can install Computer Payment Enforcer on computers that you are about to sell. You can input information on when payments are due for the computer into Computer Payment Enforcer. Each day, Computer Payment Enforcer displays a small screen informing the customer of how many days are left until their next payment is due. If payment is not overdue, the customer can remove this screen, simply by clicking on the Ok button or pressing Enter on the keyboard. When a payment is due, instead of a small screen, Computer Payment Enforcer displays a large screen that totally blocks access to the computer. At this point, the screen will not be removed until the user inputs a code into a text box on the screen. You provide this code when the customer pays their bill.

Trojan Slayer is a sof...

Trojan Slayer

Trojan Slayer is a software program that helps to protect your computer from Trojan infections. It learns what programs you use on your computer, creating a list of "good" programs. Once it has learned what programs are acceptable on your computer, you can switch to one of several enforcement modes, where it runs continuously. In these modes, Trojan Slayer blocks or eliminates any program that it has not learned is a good program. Since Trojans are just programs, this provides constant protection against ANY unknown program. There are four enforcement modes: 1) Report- In this mode, Trojan Slayer will pop up a screen informing you of any unknown programs that are running. You can ignore the new program, have Trojan Slayer learn it as a good program, shut down the new program (cause it to stop running), delete the file from your hard drive, or replace it with a dummy file that blocks further infection. 2) Block- Automatically shut down any unidentified program it finds running. 3) Delete - Not only shut down any unidentified programs, but automatically delete the file from your hard drive. 4) Replace - Automatically delete the file from your hard drive and replace the file with a dummy file of the same name. This is sometimes necessary because some Trojan files actually replace themselves if they are deleted. Replacing the file with a dummy file of the same name can block this replacement technique. Trojan Slayer is extremely flexible and easy to use. You can manually delete the Trojan from the list of "good" programs or add new software to the good list at any time.

Provides access contro...

Program Sentry

Provides access control and usage management. When installed, it allows you to either create a list of blocked programs or a list of allowed programs. In the blocked programs mode, any program on the list is blocked. In the allowed program mode, any program NOT on the list is blocked. Which mode you choose to use depends on whether you have a few programs you want to block (in which case you would use the blocked program mode), or you have a few programs you want to allow people to use (in which case you would use the allowed program mode). In both modes, you can assign optional passwords to the programs on the list. In blocked program mode, if no password is assigned to a program, it cannot be individually unblocked. If a password is assigned to a blocked program, it can be unblocked using the password. In the allowed program mode, if no password is assigned to the program, it is never blocked. If a password is assigned to the program, it is blocked until someone enters the password for that program. passwords are useful if several people use the computer, and you want each to be allowed to use different programs. You can give each person the passwords to the programs they are allowed to use. An administrator password is required to add or remove programs from the lists or change their passwords. This provides the person who installs Program Sentry with the ability to completely control the use of a computer. All blocking can be temporarily turned off using supervisor level password. This password cannot be used to add programs to (or remove programs from) the program lists. This program is most useful in a business setting, where the supervisor needs the ability to control who can do what on each company computer. It can also be useful in a family setting, however, to give parents control of the computer to block children from using certain programs.

Control at what times ...

Software Time Lock

Control at what times the Web, specific programs, and even Windows itself can be used on a particular computer. Also, control how long these functions can be used in the course of a day. 1) Set blocks of time for each day of the week during which you cannot access the Web on a computer. For example, you can set that you cannot access the Web Monday through Friday from midnight to 6 PM and from 10 PM to midnight. You can set several blocks for each day, such as midnight to 8 AM and 6 PM to midnight, thus creating a limited time period during which the Web can be accessed (in this case, 8 AM to 6 PM). 2) Select specific programs and set blocks of time for each day of the week during which you cannot use these programs. For example, you can set that you cannot use certain games from noon to 8:00 PM Monday through Friday. You can set several blocks for each day, such as midnight to 8 AM and 6 PM to midnight, thus creating a limited time period during which the programs can be used (in this case, 8 AM to 6 PM). 3) Set blocks of time for each day of the week during which you cannot use the computer at all. For example, you can set that you cannot have the computer on from 9 PM to midnight and from midnight to 8 AM on Saturday and Sunday. You can set several blocks for each day of the week, such as midnight to 8 AM and 6 PM to midnight, thus creating a limited time period during which the computer can be used (in this case, 8 AM to 6 PM). 4) Set that a user can only access the Web for a specific length of time on each day of the week. For example, you could set that you can only surf the Web for one hour per day on Monday through Friday, and for three hours per day on Saturday and Sunday. 5) Select specific programs and set limits of how many hours and minutes you can access them each day of the week. 6) Set for each day of the week how many hours you can use the computer.
