Clickomania next Generation
Clickomania next Generation is a puzzle game. Some call it ?reverse Tetris? and it?s been named arcade like game, logical game or thinking game as well. Clickomania can be played strategically with a lot of mental effort, when you want to clean up the whole board. Or you can play very fast and intuitively, when you don?t want to do a lot of thinking. Either way, Clickomania has a great addicting power and after a little number of played games, you will notice that it?s getting harder and harder to quit: A frequent reaction is the need to play just one more game. And after that: Just another one. And then again, one little additional game... The rules: Clickomania has quite simple rules: When you start the game, the board is filled with tiles (or so called stones). You are supposed to eliminate all these stones. You can remove stones only in groups: When a stone has a neighbor (above, below, on the left or on the right) with the same color, you can click on it and the stone disappears along with all the adjacent stones with the same color. The gap is filled by the stones above, which slide down. And if a column is completely emptied, the stones on the right slide to the left to close the gap. That?s already all about rules. Just try it and soon you?ll realize how it works. The game is called Clickomania, because you can click on impulse. And if you don?t like your move, just take it back with the undo button. Clickomania has been around since 1996; other implementations of the same game concept existed before. Since then, Clickomania has become a huge success. I can only guess how many people all around the world are playing the game. I estimate that it?s between three and five million people. In the meantime, there are versions for Macintosh, Linux, Java, Palm, DOS, Gameboy and even mobile phones. So far, there is no good implementation for Mac OS X: A challenge for a Mac programmer? This games software is listed under games - strategy.

Backgrounder
Backgrounder adds background images to Windows folders. You can add pictures to sub folders as well ? check the ?Process subfolders? option in order to add pictures to all subfolders or a selection (there will be a dialog in which you can remove all the folders you do not want to process). If you don't like the pictures anymore, there is a comfortable option to remove all the pictures you have added. Additionally, you can choose the color of the file captions in the Windows explorer. The use of this fine tool simple: First, select the folder(s) you want to embellish with a picture and decide if you want to check the subfolders option. Then, choose the picture to add. If necessary resize the picture in your favorite image editor. Supported file formats are JPEG and Bitmap (BMP). Finally decide which color Backgrounder the explorer should use for file captions in this folder. Then, hit the button ?Add pictures? and the program will create the desktop.ini files, which are needed to display the images in the background of an explorer window. To remove pictures is just as simple: Select the folder you want to have cleaned and click the ?Delete pict.? Button ? if you have checked the ?Process subfolders? option, pictures will be removed from subfolders as well. Some remarks about the way Windows displays the images: There is, unfortunately, no possibility to stretch or scale the image. Windows shows images in original size and tiles them; if the image is smaller than the window (it repeats the image horizontally and vertically). If you do not like that, you should set up your image in your image editing software: Add a border on the right and on the bottom ? if you make the image larger than the size of your screen this way, it won't get tiled again. The program runs only on Windows XP ? older versions of the operating system can be customized directly in the explorer. Backgrounder is freeware. If you like it, please donate your mite via www.clickomania.ch! Backgrounder is a freeware categorized under desktop tools.
