CPUSpy

Most x86 processors support the CPUID instruction which returns data describing the make and model of the CPU. Later processors also support extended features such as cache details, processor features, design speed and processor name. CPUSpy interrogates your processor and displays this data (if supported) in a easy to read tabbed format. L1, L2 and L3 cache data is fully broken down as are the processor flags. In addition, CPUSpy can also check your current CPU speed in MHz, Windows Up-Time, IP address, Window Version and memory status. CPUSpy even can run a test on your cache memory to provide an easy comparison between various processors or system configurations. CPUSpy also has an internal database of many common CPUs, supporting most AMD (tm), Intel (tm) and Transmeta (tm) processors. This can be used to compare between processors features such as bus speed, maximum frequency, cache sizes, release dates, codename, and transistor count. Interesting facts are also included for most major models. A OS database is also included for comparing past current and future versions of Windows as well as information on you computers drives. Processor data can be saved in a HTML report file providing an easy way to extract data from a PC and analyse it later. CPUSpy is written in 100% assembly language.

QWave is designed to s...

QWave

QWave is designed to simplify the previewing of audio files Most players will take up to 10 seconds to load just the program. QWave gets to the point faster by having only an icon in the System Tray and does nothing during start-up other than play the file. In addition, QWave is extremely small (6 KB - the ReadMe is larger than the program itself) and uses the in-built Media Control Interface to play files. Thus, QWave supports almost all Multi-Media files, including Wave, MIDI, MP3, MPEG and AVI. QWave configures itself to appear in the context menu of all files for easy previewing, but QWave can also be used as the default player.

Looking for a simple c...

Egg

Looking for a simple countdown timer to prevent you toasting your clothes in the dryer or freezing soft-drink cans while you are "working" on your computer? Egg is an easy to use countdown timer, settable by second divisions from 1 second up to 99 hours. While it features a compact window, common times (1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 45 and 60 minutes) are settable with only two clicks. It can have a beep or almost any standard audio file (including MP3s) for the "time-up" sound, either of which can be set to repeat. For the more demanding user, Egg offers several more advanced abilities, including auto repeating timers, keyboard shortcuts, "On-Top" window options, muting, flash screen alarm, long sound termination and operation while minimized. Egg can also be minimized to the System tray and controlled via its icon, or the window size can be varied to whatever size you want, including full screen, to allow you to see the count from across the room. All Settings, including window position, are saved for easy configuring. Command Line options and are also supported and Egg requires under 100KB of hard drive space.

Playlists are a useful...

JukeBx

Playlists are a useful way to organize your digital music... if you have only a few hundred songs. Once you have thousands of tunes, it becomes a chore to modify playlists to suit changing tastes / moods. Also, playlists become completely impractical when you have to suit the musical tastes of various household members. JukeBx changes this. It builds playlists in the background that it creates based on how you, and up to nine other users, rate the tune. This enables you to hear the tunes you love regularly, and the ones you don't like as much less, while still giving you the variety that rebuilding playlists every day would give you. Furthermore, up to ten programmable patterns can be set so everyone can hear music they like equally, or unequally if you set it that way! For example, you can set a pattern that will select 5 tunes in a row that you like followed by one your partner likes. JukeBx supports most media files, including most video types, and tunes can be imported from playlists, directories or simply by file. JukeBx can also be used as a playlist generator if you like another player but dislike it's selection ability. JukeBx even includes a Media Filler mode for portable music players which will fill up a directory with a set amount of music. In addition JukeBx supports offensive song filtering, minimum rating play mode, variable start and end time, ID3 data importing, selectable full screen video, cover / disc image viewing, file type filtering, customization of the user and pattern names, minimize to tray, directory and playlist playing, database browsing, file play count, auto-play, 10 tune back, 100 tune anti-repeat, anti-artist repeat, and auto minimize. For the advanced / daring users, it is possible to modify some of the values that JukeBx uses to select tunes and, for example, change the weightings of the tune ratings.

With today's huge hard...

TwinSeek

With today's huge hard drives it becomes easy to accumulate large collections of media files. This becomes a problem when you realize that your collection of 5000 files is full of duplicates... Sorting this manually would take weeks. TwinSeek however will speed this up significantly by comparing all the files in a directory, and will then show what ones are 95% similar. TwinSeek can also used to provide a detailed comparison of the differences between two files.

The accuracy of your P...

iTimeSync

The accuracy of your PCs clocks is important for many reasons, but keeping it that way can be a chore. iTimeSync does the job for you by contacting one of many NIST time servers over the internet. No configuration is needed, simply connect to the internet, run the program and press "Correct". iTimeSync can also be set to automatically synchronize any minute / hour / day period and it supports both the RFC-868 (TIME) and the RFC-2030 (SNTP) protocols. While servers names are included, this list can be easily changed, for example, to servers that are closer to your locality or to a local server on your LAN. iTimeSync can even sync from another iTimeSync as it can be used as a TIME server over a LAN. Other features include detailed logging, auto advance to another server if the selected one fails, auto start, minimize to tray, check without change, correct only minutes and seconds mode, variable time-out, max/min times, and a positive or negative time offset can be set if you are in a obscure time zone or if you like your clock to be fast or slow. iTimeSync is written in Assembly for maximum efficiency and speed.
