The accuracy of your P...

iTimeSync

The accuracy of your PCs clocks is important for many reasons, but keeping it that way can be a chore. iTimeSync does the job for you by contacting one of many NIST time servers over the internet. No configuration is needed, simply connect to the internet, run the program and press "Correct". iTimeSync can also be set to automatically synchronize any minute / hour / day period and it supports both the RFC-868 (TIME) and the RFC-2030 (SNTP) protocols. While servers names are included, this list can be easily changed, for example, to servers that are closer to your locality or to a local server on your LAN. iTimeSync can even sync from another iTimeSync as it can be used as a TIME server over a LAN. Other features include detailed logging, auto advance to another server if the selected one fails, auto start, minimize to tray, check without change, correct only minutes and seconds mode, variable time-out, max/min times, and a positive or negative time offset can be set if you are in a obscure time zone or if you like your clock to be fast or slow. iTimeSync is written in Assembly for maximum efficiency and speed.

TwinSeek

With today's huge hard drives it becomes easy to accumulate large collections of media files. This becomes a problem when you realize that your collection of 5000 files is full of duplicates... Sorting this manually would take weeks. TwinSeek however will speed this up significantly by comparing all the files in a directory, and will then show what ones are 95% similar. TwinSeek can also used to provide a detailed comparison of the differences between two files.

We at Sinner Computing...

Versus

We at Sinner Computing are big fans of fighting games, especially the Soul Calibur series. We feel that to enjoy these games to its fullest you should change your character regularly, but the random feature in Soul Calibur seem to favour certain characters, and we do not like some of the characters anyway. At first we tried various methods to get around this problem (moving over the character select screen like a chess knight was the most interesting idea) but eventually we decided the answer was obvious; write our own random routine. Versus can be configured for almost any One on One competition, including non computer ones, by simply editing the configuration file. In addition to showing the next selection, there is display of a few of the previous bouts. Versus can be set to prevent repeat selections, and also to prevent mirror matches. It is also possible to prioritise some selections over others.

This program provides ...

Slam

This program provides the ability to perform any shutdown operation via the command line. Slam can easily shutdown, restart, log off, power-down, suspend or hibernate your computer. Slam can also be used to remotely shutdown other computers, and for shutting down windows automatically at a set time using Windows built in Scheduler. Force can be used to closed crashed programs, plus delayed and warned shutdowns are also supported. Slam is written in Assembly Language for maximum efficiency.

Looking for a simple c...

Egg

Looking for a simple countdown timer to prevent you toasting your clothes in the dryer or freezing soft-drink cans while you are "working" on your computer? Egg is an easy to use countdown timer, settable by second divisions from 1 second up to 99 hours. While it features a compact window, common times (1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 45 and 60 minutes) are settable with only two clicks. It can have a beep or almost any standard audio file (including MP3s) for the "time-up" sound, either of which can be set to repeat. For the more demanding user, Egg offers several more advanced abilities, including auto repeating timers, keyboard shortcuts, "On-Top" window options, muting, flash screen alarm, long sound termination and operation while minimized. Egg can also be minimized to the System tray and controlled via its icon, or the window size can be varied to whatever size you want, including full screen, to allow you to see the count from across the room. All Settings, including window position, are saved for easy configuring. Command Line options and are also supported and Egg requires under 100KB of hard drive space.

Most file encryptors u...

XorIt

Most file encryptors use methods that rely on the theory of computational security, that is difficulty of key factorisation prevents decryption of the file. But this method may not work forever. It used to be considered that a 56 bit key was unbreakable to brute force attacks, but the government of the USA now requires all Top Secret data to use keys of at least 192 bits. This bar will keep raising as computing power increases. (It is argued by some though that this will never happen due to the laws of physics!) XorIt is designed to use conventional XOR encryption on keys that are the same size as the file to be encrypted. Furthermore, if you use an unpredictable file that is the same size (or larger) than the original file and you use this file only once, this is known as a "one-time pad" and it is completely unbreakable, even to computers 1000 years from now. This is because there is no algorithm at all, just a big key, and thus there is no pattern to follow once you have decrypted any part of the file. Thus attempts to decrypt it could result in any file, and there would be no way to verify that it has decrypted correctly. XorIt is written in Assembly Language for maximum efficiency. XorIt is a simplified version of our program CryptIt.
