Skype
Skype originated as a software to make phone calls over the Internet. This is an IP telephony software, i.e. it uses Internet connections to place your call. Now the software includes tons of other features, like calls from computer to landline, video conferencing, making videocalls, do file transfer, people search and instant messaging. If you have a webcam you can make video calls or personalize software with the pictures of yourself. Skype offers cheap call rates to land lines and mobile phones all over the world. In September 2005 the company has been acquired by EBAY Inc. for 2.6 Bil. Skype license is freeware and it is listed in communications telephony software.
