Lannouncement

Taro Software's Lannouncement bulletin board system (BBS) lets you post emergency must-read messages that automatically appear to the LAN user on login or pops-up no matter what application they are in! Lannouncement also functions as a complete bulletin board and discussion group application for your local area network. It is easy to use and inexpensive, ideal for small organizations. Developed to be network independent, our software will install transparently and execute on Microsoft Windows NT, Banyan Vines, and Novell Netware networks. Supports file attachments, multiple fonts, and unlimited topic sizes (no more 64K limits). New version - now works on 32 bit network drivers and Windows 95/98/2000. Lannouncement is the electronic equivalent of a bulletin board. Lannouncement is designed to allow people in your organization to post bulletins, distribute documents or other files, and engage in on-line discussions. It is a "groupware" product. People post messages to the board so that others may select and view them. Users can elect to print the message or save attachments associated to the message. You may join in a public dialog with other Lannouncement users regarding a message or initiate your own discussion. Lannouncement is organized into two types of messages, Topics and Dialogs. Topics are documents that can only be read. Typical uses of a topic would be the posting of new user information, a listing of an organization's phone numbers and structure, advertising items for sale, or the distribution of the Corporate Handbook. Dialogs are public forums where information can be exchanged amongst a group of users. Dialogs may be joined by anyone, but can only be initiated by users with create access to the subject. Typical uses of a dialog might be a special interest discussion group, a customer feedback area, or a help desk question and answer area.

IsItUp Network Monitor

IsItUp Network Monitor is a server monitor, website monitor, port, and email system monitor. It continuously monitors multiple IP devices, websites, servers & alerts you via email or pager; graphs. Website content check; runs as a service; maintains performance statistics for each device it monitors - up time, maximum response time, minimum response time, standard deviation & error log. Taro Software's IsItUp - When you need to know the status of your network. IsItUp monitors multiple network, email, website devices around the clock and notifies you, via email or pager, of the status of that device - when it goes down, and when it comes back up! IsItUp maintains complete statistics for each device it monitors - up time, maximum response time, minimum response time, standard deviation and a host of other measurements. What's more, it tracks the last successful and last failed Traceroute to a destination so it can determine where the break-down occurred. IsItUp can continuously monitors multiple "pingable" devices using TCP/IP's Ping utility; it tests email servers by bouncing messages off auto-reply accounts and websites by using HTTP.
