Electromagnetics

Electromagnetics (a.k.a. Visual Electromagnetics) is a Virtual Laboratory of Electricity, Magnetism and applications. An Intuitively Easy-To-Use collection of -at least- 19 interactive simulation modules that allow the user to simulate and visualize experiments. A Virtual Laboratory mainly at the University level, however, High Schools with ambitious programs and Colleges may find Electromagnetics very useful for their courses. This software may be used (1) during classes, to support the teacher's explanation, making classes more interesting, (2) in the library by students, to review the topics covered in classes (3) at home by students to run experiments with the student's data, even extreme experiments, which result in a better grasping of topics. Teachers may use this Virtual Lab to prepare classes and suggest experiments. Electromagnetics makes the students really learn because the experiments exceed those studied in a traditional Electricity and Magnetism course, thus opening the doors to a richer and enlightening panorama. In a conventional (traditional) Physics laboratory it is impossible to execute experiments with extreme parameters, for instance it is impossible to shot a gun, because it is dangerous, it is impossible to make changes in the acceleration of gravity, it is not possible to carry out experiments in "Slow Motion" or to settle a "time freezing". This software overcomes all these drawbacks. Special Features .- -Experiment pause (Time freezing): inttroduces a pause during an experiment, which is usually used to display vectors (forces, velocities, accelerations, etc) -Slow Motion: executes an experiment sslowly enough for the user to appreciate the details. -Extreme parameters experimentation: AAllows experimentation with parameters that if used in real life would produce damage to the equipment or harm the user. This education software is listed under education teaching, training tools.

Curvilinear

Curvilinear: Easy Learning Plane Analytic Geometry An Intuitively-Easy-To-Use visual interactive software, oriented to overcome the abstraction that exists in the Plane Analytic Geometry (PAG), this is a tool that makes it easy to learn and master the PAG, the user is allowed to literally "see" the mathematics while carrying out operations and problems by hundreds in a very short time with the help of the mouse. One thing is to study and try to solve problems on Plane Analytic Geometry with a book (and if you can afford it, with a private teacher), definitively the number of solved problems is limited and the grasping of the subject is not always total. Using Curvilinear as a tool to learn PAG while solving problems is not only effective, it is also amusing and rewarding, Curvilinear is a tool with which hundreds of problems can be solved very quickly once and again, until the subject is understood. Hundreds of variations of a given problem can be made with very few mouse clickings. Curvilinear processes the (x,y) coordinates entered by the user by either of two methods: mouse or keyboard. When entering data under the Keyboard option, the selection of objects (point, line, circle, etc) is made with a mouse click on the object icon, then a small window shows up where the user enters the (x,y) coordinates via keyboard. This data input mode is oriented to the solution of specific problems The data input under the Mouse option is very quick provided there is no need of accurate data input, otherwise it is very slow because it requires a very high steadiness of the hand (a firm pulse) to control mouse motion. The Mouse input mode is ideal while learning PAG, when a great deal of practice is needed, and the student needs to become acquainted with the Mathematics and meaning of the PAG. Curvilinear license is shareware and it is listed in education mathematics software.

An Intuitively Easy-To...

Physics Virtual Laboratory, PVL

An Intuitively Easy-To-Use collection of -at least- 113 interactive Physics simulation modules that allow the user to simulate and visualize Physics experiments. Useful from High School to University. PVL may be used (1) during classes, to support the teacher's explanation and to make classes more interesting, (2) in the library by students, to review the topics covered in classes (3) at home by students to run experiments with the student's data, even extreme experiments, which result in a better grasping of studied topics. The teacher may also use the PVL to prepare classes and suggest experiments. The PVL overcomes all these drawbacks. PVL Special Features .- -Experiment pause (Time freezing): inttroduces a pause in the execution of an experiment, usually a pause is used to display vectors (forces, velocities, etc) -Slow Motion: executes an experiment sslowly enough for the user to appreciate the behaviour of the system. -Extreme parameters experimentation: AAllows experimentation with parameters that if used in real life would produce damage to the equipment or harm the user. -Visualization of vectors: Usually wheen the pause button is pressed some vectors are displayed. (forces, velocities, accelerations, etc) Using the screen as a blackboard.- In many experiments the user is free to use the screen as a blackboard, this means that the user may place vectors, blocks, masses, etc wherever he/she wants on screen, and as many as space allows for. This allows comparative teaching or learning, since the user is allowed to see several instances of an experiment simultaneously. Physics Virtual Laboratory, PVL is a shareware categorized under education teaching, training tools tools.

Panageos

Panageos: This is a powerful Plane Analytic Geometry Problem Solver and Visualizer. Panageos is oriented to the intensive solution of problems on Plane Analytic Geometry The main feature of Panageos is its power to read the user's equations and interpret them, for this reason the data input is exclusively through the keyboard (coefficients of several types of equations are entered via keyboard). In order to solve problems with Panageos, both the mouse and keyboard are used, clicking the icon of an object (point, line, circle, etc) opens a small menu with several options for user's data entry for each object. Both, coordinates and coefficients of equations can be input. Panageos reads and interprets several types of equations for the straight line, the circle, the parabola, the ellipse, and the Hyperbola. Panageos may be used by the teacher to prepare classes, homeworks and exams. The students may use Panageos to solve hundreds of problems in a very short time, also may be used to verify solutions previously obtained with pencil on paper. Panageos is a shareware categorized under education mathematics tools.

EconoModeler is an Int...

EconoModeler

EconoModeler is an Intuitively-Easy-To-Use software dealing with Analytic Geometry for Mathematical Economics, Modeling and Management applications. EconoModeler can be used as a Virtual Laboratory that very quickly and very easily generates Plane Analytic Geometry objects like Points, straight lines, Circumferences, Parabolas, Ellipses, Hyperbolas, Circular Arcs, Lines between two points, etc, to be applied on Economic Modelling and in Management. EconoModeler can be used in the classroom by the teacher as an aid to make visualize and understand the topics he/she covers, thus making a visual and dynamic class, in the office or at home the teacher may use EconoModeler to prepare classes and exams. Students may use this software at home or in the library to review and study the topics covered in class, thus grasping the Economy topics in a much easier and quicker way. Teachers and students may use EconoModeler in their laptops during classes. The following intersections can be detected .... Line-Line, Line-circumference, Line-Ellipse, Line-Parabola, Line-Hyperbola, Parabola-Parabola. In EconoModeler the user places the origin of coordinates (hence the X and Y axes) wherever he/she needs it to be. This attribute is very important and powerful because some applications need only the first quadrant of the Cartesian plane, for other applications the position of the origin of coordinates may be adjusted at will. The names of the X and Y axes may be changed at will, either selecting them from an included table or placing them through the keyboard. By clicking a button EconoModeler may be changed from English to Spanish or vice versa. Generated images and text reports may be stored in the hard disk and/or printed. education teaching, training tools shareware listed in education teaching, training tools section.
